Abducted (2011)

(in English and Luandan – no English sub, only in Hungarian)

19 min / 2011 /HD

Once they were warriors in the bush. They were abducted from their villages, their families as a children. They returned home after many years – if they were lucky and survived the combats, hiding, raiding and endless walking – as an adult after a nightmare.
At home they were discriminated and stigmatized in the community.
They needed help for rehabilitation, they had to start their life from the beginning.

Most of the girls were forced to marry a LRA-rebel. Lots of them were raped by the guerillas. Many of them became a parent.
They were taught to fight and kill in the bushes of Uganda, DR Congo and Sudan, to starve and suffer, to loot and believe in the spiritual mad ideas of Joseph Kony, the head of LRA. They were only kids. (Reminiscences of five former child soldiers)
